Since Bamboo is a recent result of Appriss Health’s acquisition of PatientPing, we haven’t had time to move all of our content to one website. For this specific content, we’re sending you to one of our other sites.
To ensure that our Bamboo Health solutions meet regulatory requirements of the U.S. healthcare industry as mandated by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HSS) and Office of Civil Rights (OCR), we maintain many trusted accreditations and certifications. Our solutions comply with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other regulatory mandates.
Bamboo Health has achieved HITRUST CSF® Certification status for the solutions listed below. This accomplishment demonstrates our proactive approach to data protection and risk mitigation as well as adherence to the highest information security standards across our technology platforms.
Why is HITRUST Certification Important?
HITRUST has developed the HITRUST CSF, a certifiable framework that provides organizations with the needed structure, detail and clarity relating to information protection.
With input from leading organizations within the industry, HITRUST identified a subset of the HITRUST CSF control requirements that an organization must meet to be HITRUST CSF Certified.
HITRUST CSF Certified status demonstrates that the solutions listed below have met regulations and industry-defined requirements and are appropriately managing risk.
Bamboo Health solutions with HITRUST CSF Certification include:

Bamboo Health has earned System and Organization Controls (SOC) 2 Type II Compliance for the following solutions:
Developed by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), the audit confirms that the information security practices, policies, procedures, and operations at Bamboo Health meet the SOC 2 Type II standards for managing customer data based on three trust service principles: security, availability, and confidentiality.
The SOC 2 Compliance certification is the most widely recognized method for sharing independently reviewed information about a service organization’s internal controls. As an accredited organization, Bamboo Health solutions meet or exceed the levels of security required for service providers storing customer data in the cloud.
The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) legislation encourages the use of electronic health records to improve the efficiency and quality of the U.S. healthcare system through improved information sharing. Additionally, HIPAA includes provisions to protect the security and privacy of protected health information (PHI). PHI encompasses a broad set of personally identifiable health and health-related data, including insurance and billing information, diagnosis data, clinical care data, and lab results. Hospitals, medical services providers, employer sponsored health plans, research facilities, insurance companies and related business associates must adhere to HIPAA regulations and requirements.
Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH) expanded the HIPAA rules in 2009. Combined, HIPAA and HITECH establish a set of federal standards with the intention of protecting the security and privacy of PHI. These provisions are included in the “Administrative Simplification” rules. HIPAA and HITECH mandate requirements related to the use and disclosure of PHI, appropriate safeguards to protect PHI, individual rights, and administrative responsibilities.
Bamboo Health solutions are HIPAA and HITECH compliant as outlined by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
