Rob Cohen

Rob Cohen is chief executive officer at Bamboo Health (formerly Appriss Health + PatientPing), serving previously as the president and general manager from 2016-2021. Cohen brings more than 20 years of healthcare and technology experience to his role with a career, spanning leadership positions at Evolent Health, McKinsey & Company, Anthem and Healthways. Prior to Bamboo Health, Cohen served as the Market President of Tennessee for Evolent Health, a leading health IT and population health provider, where he was responsible for the operations, growth, and profitability of regional relationships. Rob Cohen holds a BBA from the University of Texas at Austin, a Master of Computer and Information Technology from the Moore School of Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania, and an MBA with honors from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. 

Nishi Rawat, MD, MBA

Nishi Rawat, MD, MBA, began her healthcare career in 2002 as an emergency medicine and critical care physician. As a healthcare faculty member and researcher, she led quality measure development and implementation at Johns Hopkins Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality. Using her previous years of frontline medical care experience and passion to improve care delivery, in 2015, Dr. Rawat founded and served as lead technologist for OpenBeds®, a company dedicated to improving access to mental health and SUD treatment. Following the company’s acquisition by Appriss Health (now Bamboo Health), Dr. Rawat leads the OpenBeds® solution and behavioral health strategy as Chief Clinical Officer. Dr. Rawat developed metrics, standards, and guidelines with treatment providers and state governments around the OpenBeds® system to evaluate and improve access to treatment. She has been a partner of the National Institute on Drug Abuse to improve access to care and worked with the American Society of Addiction Medicine and Shatterproof to create an Addiction Treatment Needs Assessment. Dr. Rawat completed her residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital and fellowships at Johns Hopkins University and Harvard Medical School. She holds a medical degree from Queen’s University, a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from McGill University, and an MBA from Georgetown University. 

Chris Skowronek

Chris Skowronek is a healthcare industry operations and strategy leader, with a track record of success managing and driving product development, healthcare optimization, and innovation. He currently is Bamboo Health’s Vice President of Payer Strategy and has held previous healthcare executive positions responsible for value capture, P&L, and program implementations with a specialization in population health management, healthcare analytics, workflow optimization, and network integration. Chris is skilled in strategic planning, provider value capture, healthcare analytics, provider engagement and relations, and healthcare policy. He received his master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. 

Tej Motiwala

Tej Motiwala, MPH, is VP of Population Health at Oak Street Health, a national network of value-based primary care clinics for adults on Medicare. Tej leads Oak Street’s transitional care and utilization management programs. He has also led several initiatives related to diversity, equity, and inclusion including a new process to capture patients’ self-reported race/ethnicity to more accurately measure and mitigate health disparities. Previously, Tej worked on clinical program design at CareMore Health and payer and provider strategy consulting at Deloitte. 

Vatsala Kapur

Vatsala Kapur brings over two decades of experience in health policy and public health. She has spent much of her career focused on delivery system and payment reform initiatives as a consultant and policy advisor at the state and federal levels. She is presently a Senior Director of Government Affairs at Bamboo Health. Vatsala is a recipient of The Livesay Award for Social Change from The Colorado College and The American Marshall Memorial Fellowship. She was also selected to participate in the University of Colorado’s Denver Community Leadership Forum. She serves on several boards including NextFifty Initiative, WorldDenver, Children’s Museum of Denver, the Bell Policy Center and the New Venture Fund. Previously, she has also served as an Operating Board member of Bonfils Blood Center and a Trustee at St. Anne’s Episcopal School. Vatsala received a Master of Public Affairs from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs, and a Master of Arts degree from the Institute of Latin American Studies at the University of Texas at Austin. She graduated cum laude with distinction with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and history with a Latin America concentration and a minor in North American Studies from The Colorado College. She has a Certificate in Mediation from the University of Denver. 

The Honorable Patti Bellock

Patti Bellock has dedicated her public service career to ensuring access to quality health care for Illinois’ most vulnerable population and making the state’s health care and delivery systems more efficient and effective. She’s been nationally recognized for her role in establishing major healthcare reforms and improvements. Director Bellock spent 20 years as a state representative in the Illinois General Assembly, serving as a member of two Medicaid-related groups to move legislation forward, approving the Hospital Assessment and the Omnibus Medicaid bill. She was the first woman Deputy Minority Leader in the history of Illinois. As Director of the IL State Medicaid and Child Support Agency in the Illinois Health Care and Family Services, Ms. Bellock worked on healthcare legislation and public policy issues throughout the United States. She initiated Better Care Illinois, the state’s landmark 1115 Medicaid waiver and sponsored legislation on medical reform, disabilities and health care, as well as directed and reformed the child support systems. One of Ms. Bellock’s signature achievements in the General Assembly was the landmark Save Medicaid Access and Resources Together (SMART) Act, which reformed the Illinois Medicaid System. She also worked on bills regarding mental health parity, MRSA infection control and the Amber Alert system, winning her awards from over 30 organizations. Ms. Bellock is proud of her rich Chicago roots, as the great granddaughter of Charles Comisky, the founder of the Chicago White Sox. In her free time, Ms. Bellock spends time with her grandchildren, family and friends, volunteers on various Boards, develops women leadership programs, speaks at national conferences and universities, and attends sporting events.
